Frequently asked questions
Is Callbell really free?
Yes. The free plan is free forever and needs no credit card. Features that create running costs for us (photo uploads, AI, instant notifications) will be part of the upcoming Pro plan.
Do guests need to install an app?
No. Guests scan the QR code on the table with their phone camera and the menu opens instantly in the browser.
How does the waiter call work?
The guest taps “Call waiter” or “Ask for bill” on the menu. The call appears on your staff's screen with the table number. On the free plan the screen refreshes about every 20 seconds; on Pro notifications arrive instantly.
How many languages can my menu have?
Unlimited. Type translations yourself, or download them as a spreadsheet, translate them with Google Sheets and upload them back. Guests can also use their browser's built-in translation.
What do I do when prices change?
Use bulk price update to raise the whole menu or selected categories by a percentage or amount. The QR menu updates instantly, and the PDF menu, entrance price list and table cards are regenerated in one tap and emailed to you.
Do I own my data?
Yes. You can export your whole menu as CSV at any time. If a paid plan ends, your data is never deleted — you simply return to the free plan.
